Careers

You will know your clients. They will know you.

Every RTGroup client is looked after by a pod, a small group of technicians who stay with them. You work in a pod and get to know your pod’s clients properly, rather than taking whatever lands next in a queue. The people you help know who they are talking to, and so do you.

Open roles

What we are hiring for right now.

Support Technician

Open

Front line support for a set of client businesses you will get to know well. Good with people first, good with technology second, and we will train the rest.

Full time Greater Victoria Remote-first

This list is managed in WordPress

Postings are added, edited and closed from the dashboard. When nothing is open, this section shows a short note instead and points people at the standing invitation below, so the page never looks abandoned.

Always open

Support technicians are always welcome to apply.

Whether or not there is a posting above. If you are good with people, curious about how things work, and you would rather fix the cause than close the ticket, we want to hear from you.

We hire when we meet the right person, not only when a role is advertised. Plenty of good people are already employed and not actively looking, which is exactly why the conversation below is a private one.

  • No posting required
  • No agencies
  • No application tracking system
  • Read by one person

One firm requirement

You need to be in Greater Victoria.

We are remote-first and you will mostly work from home. But some things still need a person in the room, and our clients are here. This is not a role that can be done from elsewhere on the Island or from the mainland.

Why here

What working at RTGroup is actually like.

You work in a pod

Your pod looks after a set group of clients, so you get to know those businesses properly and they get to know the pod. You are part of a small team with shared context, not a name in a queue taking whatever lands next.

Remote-first, locally rooted

Work from home most days, with clients close enough to visit when something genuinely needs hands on it. No commute, and no pretending a site visit can happen over a video call.

You will touch everything

Small and medium business work is broad by nature. Networks, cloud, security, print, phones, hardware. That is a far better way to build real depth than owning one narrow layer of a large environment.

Small enough to be known

The same thing we promise clients applies internally. You are not a resource number, leadership is reachable, and nobody has to explain who you are.

Experience and training both count

Experience counts as training, and training counts as experience. A certification without having done the work does not impress us, and neither does a decade of doing it the same way. We want people who have done the job and who keep learning.

Competitive pay and benefits

Market-competitive salary with health benefits. We would rather pay properly and keep people than run a revolving door, which is also what makes the pod model work in the first place.

Before you send anything

This stays between you and us.

Most people who get in touch are employed somewhere right now, and that is completely normal. It is also the reason to be clear about what happens next.

  • Your enquiry goes to one person, not a shared inbox
  • We will never contact your current employer
  • We will not mention you to anyone, including mutual contacts
  • No public application trail, and no automated rejection emails
  • If it is not a fit, we will tell you plainly and that is the end of it

If you would rather just have a coffee and see what we are like before anything else, say so. That is a completely reasonable first step.

In confidence

Tell us a bit about yourself.

A few lines is plenty. A CV is welcome but not required to start a conversation.
